The agreement, according to four sources involved in the talks, came during a meeting between the US Secretary of State Blinken and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Qatar is still examining whether the renewed examination will also include the deportation of the Hamas leaders who are hiding in the country.

It was also reported that the purpose of the agreement is to try to balance the short-term goal of releasing the hostages and the long-term goal of isolating Hamas.

Qatar is home to much of the Hamas leadership, including the terrorist organization’s highest-ranking leader, Ismail Haniyeh, as well as senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal.
