The United States and Qatar have agreed that Doha will re-examine its relations with Hamas after the release of the hostages, the Washington Post reported this evening (Thursday).
_x000D_The agreement, according to four sources involved in the talks, came during a meeting between the US Secretary of State Blinken and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
_x000D_Qatar is still examining whether the renewed examination will also include the deportation of the Hamas leaders who are hiding in the country.
_x000D_It was also reported that the purpose of the agreement is to try to balance the short-term goal of releasing the hostages and the long-term goal of isolating Hamas.
_x000D_Qatar is home to much of the Hamas leadership, including the terrorist organization’s highest-ranking leader, Ismail Haniyeh, as well as senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal.
